CD: Futility

Carpe Diem #235 - Otiosity

when is life futile?
does hope ever flicker out?
how long should we wait?

***

captive in my mind
without knowing for decades
how futile my life

  1. I am so proud to see how the haiku poets of CD are not afraid for challenges. What a great set you have written for this prompt Maggie. You make me proud.

    1. Thank you so much, Kristjaan! I really wasn't sure if posing questions was true haiku.

  2. Great take on this tough prompt, Maggie! I think questions are very appropriate in haiku and especially senyru! And, if not, then break some rules!!! Carpe Diem Otiosity

  6. Life is not futile, hope never dies, and we wait forever if necessary. Chains can be broken. Some of us (like me) have to learn that the hard way, but in the end positive actions are worth the wait. This was beautiful and meaningful. :)

    1. I'm still here, MMT. As long as one has hope and support and can hang on...sometimes it's with someone standing on your fingertips so you can't fall.
