Waking up groggy in the hospital, Megan cursed that her suicide attempt had not worked even though she had taken supposedly enough medication that should have done the job long before her roommate was to come home. If only she had the guts to slash which she knew would be fool proof.
After the required 72 hours in a psych unit, she was released, already planning to use her razor blades when she returned home.
Arg. Loved the storytelling, so well done, but what a grim outcome.
ReplyDeleteOh, I want her to fail...Powerful little story!
ReplyDeleteYou know it's scary to think some people do that. They never give up. Very realistic and heartbreaking too. :(
ReplyDeleteYes, I know. It's scary and definitely heartbreaking.
DeleteI hope someone intervenes with the right words before she can find the blades.
ReplyDeleteThank you to all who read and commented. I know this was intense but with 3 sentences, it almost had to be.
ReplyDeleteBrutally effective.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jo-Anne. When I was a therapist, I had several clients who I never knew if I'd see the next session. I know that struggle. Lots of support and love to get beyond it. Appreciate your sharing.
ReplyDeleteAh, that's grim ): Good job with the prompt!
ReplyDeleteOhh poor thing! Wish something so good comes by that she changes her mind... Quickly enough. Nice one Maggie.
ReplyDeletePart of me wanted to help her in her suicide, since she was so intent on it. Excellent, if sad, tale.
ReplyDeleteVery real and sad portrayal. Very well done.
ReplyDeleteAh... we both went suicidal this time... interesting.
ReplyDeleteQuick learner, eh? Gruesome.
ReplyDeleteWow. This is really intense Maggie! Great job capturing the internal struggle and that intent some people have to end it all. Grim, but really well done!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Suzanne. Means a lot coming from you!
DeleteThank you to all who commented. Was gone all day yesterday and most of Saturday. Behind in individual thank yous. Much appreciated!
