wandering the booths of wares
i lose track of time

to see the parade
fathers hold children up high
memories to keep

people flood the streets
ornate floats parade by me
 don't lose me in crowd

  7. we have a 'Feast of the Fishermen' here, and these brought back memories for me....I no longer attend because of the massive crowds, but, once, it was a family fiesta....

  8. Thank you all for comments. I removed the first haiku and added a new last haiku. Wanted one I could relate to about crowds and parades. Felt disconnected from my writing even though they were true to the prompt. At least I think fathers hold their children on their shoulders in other countries at parades. Appreciate all visits and comments. Sometimes I don't comment but I do read all.
