Awesome Maggie ... I like this haiku it brought memories to a few haiku by Basho to me. Of course the one I shared already on Carpe Diem, but also his, very well known haiku about 'the old pond'. I think you know that haiku too.
old pond frog jumps in sound of water
(My own translation by the way og this well known haiku by Basho.)
I'm in heaven right now that my haiku reminds you of a Basho haiku! I remember the pond one but only the frog. Thank you so much. Am reading Issa but Basho next.
so beautiful and different! like your haiku!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nonnie. It is different. Once I wrote "pond song" it felt complete so I stopped. Hoping it's okay.
DeleteOK? It's delightful!! Thank you!Welcome Summer
ReplyDeleteThank you, Wabi! 5-7-2...but felt right. Still don't have true grasp of haiku. Your comment means so much.

Deletemine went in a similar direction, only using the sense of taste rather than hearing - I like yours better!

ReplyDeleteI didn't actually connect our haiku when I read yours but did think later your bullfrog just might be in my pond ;-O
