jarful of fireflies
becomes child's lantern in dark
lights world of wonder

earth, sea, sky
god-stuff surrounds us
all sacred

ReplyDeleteThank you :))
DeleteOne day I'll get to see fireflies. They do not live outwest, but I see them in your darling haiku.
ReplyDeleteI've heard of people all over Europe not seeing a firefly and now out west. Yet google says they are all over the world. Something happening to firefly population?! Guess I take it for granted. I've lived near a river since the 60s and they tend to like water. Thanks for liking my haiku, Lolly!
DeleteWonderful Grace, a child's universe captured in a jar :)

ReplyDeleteI never caught them in a jar but I always hoped those who did released them safely afterwards. Karma... Thank you, jrb and Wabi!
