Toads: Promptless

Imaginary Garden With Real Toads
Open Link Monday

how to write without a prompt
that I do not know
given a word inspires my mind
and prose begins to flow

so I'll bow out for Open Link
and read the others' writing
while I will sit here and brood
and hope for a new prompt sighting

  1. That's a darn good write for lack of a prompt, Maggie Grace :) ~ M

  2. Haha! This is a witty response to writer's block, though I do worry about us becoming too bound to the prompt ideas.

    1. I honestly have such a difficult time writing without a specific purpose in mind. Unless something flies into my head, I'm just empty... *snork*

  3. Please include mine, Dear Maggie. I would be honored. It is a silly ditty with absolutely no apparent depth. That I may have achieved.

My prompt word was Dash. I used the Dash Laundry soap but it went over most readers.

    1. So I changed it now, adding "laundry soap" which may have hurt the poem.

  4. Sometimes the feeding comes in reading and sometimes in the writing I believe the two are essential parts of a balanced meal. :)
