dVerse: Oblivious

dVerse: Poetics ~ Judith Clay

We are asked to write poetry inspired by art by Judith Clay.

Art by Judith Clay

floating through life
oblivious
going where my balloon
leads
never believing it might
POP!
one day
sending me crashing
down
into reality unknown
dazed
never having known
free will
until the moment of the
CRASH
i have a new balloon now
freedom
guiding me through
love
life
peace

  1. oo never having known free will all of a sudden to have it might just cause a bit of a crash, but i am glad it is freedom that now guides you....

    1. It was so odd, Brian. I didn't understand the phrase "Thy will be done" until my forties...from that Steven King series The Stand. Always thought it was an incomplete sentence. Choices I'd made of what I thought was free will had always been "other" guided. So yeah...it was a total crash. Nice to learn I could finally have it though :))

  2. This is the picture I instantly related with, as well! You express so well the fragility of that kind of flight.

  3. nice...i much like how this develops from the passive to the active flying...in our own strength...very nicely done...

  4. I like this too. If one balloon pops, hopefully another will appear and allow one to SOAR.

  5. I love that balloon .. just hold on tight Maggie, and you'll soar like you do with your poems.

  6. I like the optimistic tone of the ending; the idea that we can always rebound!

  9. So few people picked this painting. You made her flight of freedom invigorating, even if filled with possible peril.>KB

    1. Thank you for visiting, KB. I saw about 10 others writing because I posted early and today is a dizzy day. The art looked like what I would put in a collage before the days of computer collages. Am glad you liked it.

  11. It's so much fun knowing things are under control. Adverse conditions will mean an unfortunate revision to start all over again! Nicely Maggie!

  12. Sometimes, dreams fail. But it is better to have aimed and hoped for something (at the risk of failure) than not at all. :-)
