Nanka, I appreciate your visit. I do write about my perspective/experience of life which was not an innocent childhood. It's okay to have your own interpretations but my reality is my own. Said with as much respect and kindness as is possible. You don't need to read if it's upsetting. I won't be offended.
Very powerful poem. Children should never be put in a position of succumbing to evil on cue. They deserve to be protected from evil and treated with kindness and gentle nurturing. Even when they are grown, it is never to late to find the kindness and nurturing one needs!
More than anyone wants to know. It's huge :( This video was made a few years ago by me when the stats were accurate then. They would be higher now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owts-Up5ttk&list=PLC6D233F778431D22
Innocence only and no freaky connotations!!.... and all little children do this make over for image representation of mommy!!

DeleteVenturing into the masks of make up can be fun for children but maybe not so for parents!
ReplyDeleteThis is deep, dark and rich. Yes and Wow. "Succumb to evil on cue" is about so much more than makeup on babies.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Alice. It sounds like you do "get" some of it. I know it's deep and dark.
DeleteI'm on wordpress. How do I "follow" your blog and get email notifications when you post? Is there an easy way?
ReplyDeleteMy wordpress ID is: maggiegracesite.wordpress.com. I will add an RSS or whatever option Blogger has to follow. Thank you for pointing that out.

ReplyDeleteI so agree. Have learned to find and trust in kindness and nurturing both within and from outside friends and new family. Much needed to heal.
DeleteWow. This speaks volumes. I wonder how much of this is our culture.
