Pigeon Memories

Carpe Diem #178 (Pigeons)

Notre Dame's holy ground
please don't feed the pigeons
I almost forget

the piazza outside
Florence's duomo
hungry pigeons gather

popcorn for the birds
a childhood memory
pigeons in the park

    1. Yes, I had been so proud of myself for being able to understand the French sign and 10 minutes later I was calling one over. lol. I remembered just in time.

  2. I am glad for the pigeon memories. Perhaps bird and other childhood animal friends have brought more memories?

Our daughter sent us a picture of our three-year-old GD running after the pigeons in that Piazza. It is very much like this one except our pigeons are going (fast) while yours are coming to lite.

    1. Yes, I adore animals! The pigeons are landing on me because someone in the piazza suddenly stuck food in my hand. Then he wanted money for the photo op. It's not nice to surprise me. This was the second photo after I calmed down. Grandchildren are wonderful. I have one grandbaby from husband's daughter ♥

  3. I'd much rather pigeons than seagulls, but then I grew up on the coast and have had many a battle with Gulls :)

  6. Lovely memories. and a very nice picture. I like to keep a little distance to pigeons and gulls. But I have nothing against them either

  7. Thank you, WabiSabi, Kristjaan, and Björn! I prefer to keep my distance too but that guy just stuck the pigeon food in my hand before I knew what was happening. The first shot was me screaming with one on my head!
