Scent of Autumn

Carpe Diem Special #31

wet leaves on the ground
reflecting fading sun
scent of autumn

wet leaves on the ground
remind me of splashing
puddles of childhood

reflecting fading sun
rain on road from storm
branches already blown bare

scent of autumn
season waning
colors changing

  1. Beautiful series of haiku Maggie. And I am glad to see that you have used the Troiku-form of haiku. Well done.

  3. I never thought of the fading leaves as a "painting" of the fading sun before. Intriguing image.

  5. Thank you for visits and comments! I was thinking how the days got shorter in autumn...which is sad for me. But I love the smell of wet leaves :)
