dVerse: Above This Orbit

dVerse: Poetics

Writing to the Art of Catrin Welz-Stein

Where The Starlight Begins by Catrin Welz-Stein

high above this orbit
far from earthbound danger
i roam the safety of the stars
held within the moon's glow

high above this earth
my world when being here
was too much for my mind to bear
where time was nonexistent
and pain relegated to
a me of a distant plane

now one of this earth
healed beyond the pain ~
still wishing to be among the stars
walking the constellations
hiding within the peaceful unknown

  1. i think we all have these hiding places where we feel safe - esp. when things in life get difficult... sounds peaceful being between the stars and moon... nice...

  2. nice...i like how the grounding and healing come together in that last stanza...there is peace in the skies walking the constellations...that would be very cool...if leaving them was the price of healing would it be worth it?

    1. Complete healing means no longer having parts doing something outside conscious awareness. I'm there. I'm still able to dissociate but it's more like just zoning out like so intently focused you lose track of time. But I do sometimes blank out for a few seconds and don't know where I've been...maybe up there. It's not a conscious choice when it happens but healing means learning to be co-conscious and grounded. It's worth it...mostly.

  3. Sometimes I wish I had shoes that high, but I've got to come back to earth sooner or later. That was very deep and compelling.

  4. I love 'hiding within the peaceful unknown.' Sometimes I strive to do this myself.

  5. I really love how you contrast the healing with the sadness of living in forgetfulness... the price to pay is high but so is the fall from that height...

  6. Wow! What a vision! Makes me rethink some of Greek myth and see more life lingering in the stars. It's a grand vision to play on when I think of being without pain!

  8. when being here was too much for my mind to bear
Hope that part is over even though I know being here isn't always perfect.

  9. When we leave this place there is no pain, that is for certain some of the time.

  10. "healed beyond the pain"... yes, it isn't always about the physical pain that we need to address.
