CD: O. Mabson Southard's "chanting, the pond's frogs ..."

Carpe Diem Special #55

We are to write a haiku in the same tone, sense, and spirit as this one by O. Mabson Southard:

Chanting, the pond's frogs ...
among the lilies' dark pads -
the twinkle of stars

My inspired haiku:

the trees' cicadas
buzzing noisily above ~
the cycle of life

***

birdsong from above
hidden behind the green leaves
nature's orchestra

  8. Some people don't particularly like cicadas, but I'm rather fascinated by their noisy buzzing.
