Carpe Diem's Tanka Shrine #1
"Small footprints" by Marika Kitakubo
Write a tanka inspired by this one by Marika Kitakubo:
fine snow
of New Year’s Day,
small footprints
lead to grandma’s gate
before the shrine
My inspired haiku:
another new year
struggle to stay alive
now behind me
from edge of grave to life
open wide the gates
what relief there is to be on the backside of such a struggle, returning to life...
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing not to feel that struggle each day. A blessing for however long it lasts.
Deletehere's to another year, Maggie, filled with garden paths where you can leave the past behind
ReplyDeleteNice spiritual Tanka Maggie ... there are a lot of paths to go, but also to find new ways ... a wholw new year.
