CD: "Autumn Leaves"

Carpe Diem's Tan Renga Challenge #20

Joanne's "Autumn Leaves"

Transform Joanne's haiku into a tan renga by adding two more lines (traditionally seven syllables each). I broke tradition slightly.

myriad shades red and gold

silently in downy white

CD: Scattered In Sand

Carpe Diem's Tan Renga Challenge

We are learning a new form of writing called Tan Renga which follows the format of 5-7-5 written by one poet and two lines of 7-7 written by another poet. The first three lines of this Tan Renga was penned by renowned haikuist Jane Reichhold. The last two lines are my challenge:

scattered in sand
embers of a saltwood fire
face to face with stars
crescent moon reflects on shore
only their footprints remain
