Five Sentence Fiction ~ Determination

Her husband, after more than ten years of togetherness, still adamantly rejected the notion of a furred pet, having had horrendous asthmatic reactions earlier in life. She noticed he had not used his inhaler for years and had survived a weekend in his daughter's home with three large long-haired shedding cats. 

She delicately broached the topic offering the number one hypoallergenic breed of dog...and he could check with his doctor...and they could use extra precautions for cleanliness after handling the dog. How she longed for the pet companionship after already accepting a life with no more furry pets by committing to her relationship and then marriage to him. 

To her surprise, he did check with his doctor, found an allergist in case symptoms should arise, gave the green light, helped pick out names, and is eagerly awaiting the puppy's arrival.

Five Sentence Fiction ~ Beauty

She'd been lying in the hospital bed for five days, hair unwashed, tubes in her arms, fluids no one wants others to see in bags. Unsure of her fate, she wished to just close her eyes and not wake up; when she did awake, her husband was looking down on her lovingly and smiling, holding her hand.

"We won't be going on vacation this summer," she told him smiling, trying to put up a good front. He squeezed her hand and told her, "We'll have next summer." She never felt more loved or beautiful than in that moment.

Every fiber of her being was on fire from pain, betrayal,  and remembering the unspeakable of her past. What she had known as the fabric of her life fell apart the way ash becomes dust the moment it is touched. Her world turned upside down and suddenly a paranoia washed over her. The threats to her life if she spoke of the secrets were as powerful now as when she had been a child. Although all had been hidden in the amnesia, the threats were the first to leak through along with the early memories keeping her from seeking help for far too long.

This week is a photo prompt of a mansion which I've used to provide a future segment of my novel Blind Obedience. 

Background: Emma was born into a highly classified government program which caused her mind to split from intentionally induced trauma from a very young age. The personality splits created from the trauma were then trained with highly sophisticated methods by neuroscientists and other experts for various tasks and purposes. Emma has no awareness of this split off part of her life and is vacationing in England, or so she thinks. She has one day in London and is obsessed with buying a raincoat at Burberry's before her motorcoach tour leaves the next day. Previous segments of the story can be read here.


Emma entered Burberry’s and was met by a tall well-dressed female assistant in red pencil skirt, tailored blouse, and black heels. As Em stood at the counter providing her hotel information and shipping address after the final fitting for the raincoat, a gentleman, undercover for MI-6, awaited his opportunity. He had been notified by a call to a nearby telephone booth when Em left her hotel.

When Em wandered off to look at the luggage, the Englishman lingered nearby making small talk. He was able to give her the hand signal and code phrase which called out Hilary, the one who would receive the information for the assignment. One of the motorcoach tour stops would be Yorkshire. Hilary was to relay the meeting place, time, and person’s description to an inside personality known as “the conductor”.

Nearly all covert activity in Em’s life took place at night. All she would ever know is that she fell asleep in the same bed in which she awoke. The conductor’s job was to relay the meeting information to a different personality. Always an assignment was carried out by a series of personalities so if any one of her was caught and questioned, no one part would ever know the full story. Orders came from high above through other operatives so secrecy at the highest levels was never compromised.

After Em went to bed the night her tour was in Yorkshire, Natasha went to the provided room number. The team in the hotel room prepared her for the mission: clothing, disguise, “accessories”. At 2 a.m., Natasha met her contact on the dark side of the bridge, a short walk from her hotel. From there she was ushered to the American military base Menwith Hill for a briefing with those who were to be her black ops teammates for the next few hours. Just before boarding the helicopter, Anya was cued to carry out the remainder of the mission. After touching ground out of earshot of a private party held at a posh English estate, Anya arrived by limo and stepped out in her elegant attire with the help of the valet. She provided the name on the guest list and walked in confidently. 

During a quick stop in the ladies room, she carefully applied the coating to her lips and then the layer of a beautiful shade of deadly untraceable poison. The recipient, the target identified as the traitor, would be pronounced dead of a heart attack, after Anya was safely in the helicopter and after using her special lipstick remover saving her from any toxic effects.

Natasha returned to the hotel room to be debriefed and relinquish her mission items. Moments after entering her hotel room, the phone rang. Natasha answered. She was cued to forget all that had transpired and to switch back to Emma before getting into bed. The moments between signals and actions to and from Emma were always lost in the amnesia.

How could it have been invisible for decades to herself, her parade of husbands, her friends, her doctors, her therapist? Emma knew it was true at the moment of her wide awake nightmare. The voice in her mind that coached her through the screaming agony of remembering was one of her.

Emma heard the words “multiple personalities” recently but could not comprehend the meaning of fragmented selves hidden within amnesia from early childhood until the height of one’s career in their thirties or forties. The voice that coached her was a character in the novel she had written. She’d heard his voice many times but as dialog.

At age 44, the life she thought she had lived came crashing down. Oddly, knowing the voice of her character was actually a helping personality became an immediate comfort. The time had come to relive her nightmare consciously.

This segment of Blind Obedience completes the background of the covert program Firefly, begun by the CIA, in which Elias, a military officer recruited at the inception of the program, has been trained to implement the program's guidelines on his soon-to-be-created "asset". The training manual to raise a generation of “designer operatives” complete, Elias impregnated his wife. As soon as it was known she was pregnant, the fertilized egg that would be his child was inseminated into the surrogate. The underground had its own supply of “slaves”: children, teens, adults who were not missed by society. They were gathered from orphanages in places of war or where an agreement was made for financial gain, from prisons, the terminally ill, street children, the homeless, those born into cults whose births were never registered. The healthy women were kept to be bred and used as surrogates. They were property of the governments who held them. The ones not suitable for other purposes were used to traumatize those who were multiple or becoming multiple.

Witnessing the horrific torture and deaths of such people became seared into the young minds. At the moment of peak terror, the programming messages and signals for the purpose of the particular personality called out for the trauma would begin. Trauma, ritual abuse, and scientific precision along with training went hand in hand. One did not work without the other. Horrific trauma was essential to a well engineered multiple. 

While other mind control programs were proving fruitless, nothing was weak about the plan to develop the children of Firefly to be unwitting and perfectly mind controlled adults.

Each personality created for a child had been trained for a specific job either for the cult scenarios, or highly specialized knowledge to be a young astronaut, assassin, courier and numerous other government-designated purposes. Elias was not one of the respected neuroscientists who knew the brain and how to program the various entities of a young mind. Jack Leber had carefully laid out the personality matrices for different undercover purposes. 

Because Emma, his royalty-hidden “daughter”, was to be a much needed part of that world, Elias greatly resented her higher purpose and the fact that he was relegated to a necessary but not well regarded member of the secret operatives. His skills in torture were prized and chronicled as part of the darkest secret—the manual used worldwide to create the next generation of blindly obedient children into adulthood who could be used on cue for any activity for which they were trained with no memory of having done so. Yet his covert task did not allow him to band with the others in terms of importance.

Even at a young age, the children had purposes that far exceeded their original purpose. One could make a young child swallow gems and call out a loving part who believed the abuser to be a father figure and easily transport the cache to another state or country. Drugs could be hidden in children’s toys with no one thinking twice. The child returning home had no memory of the event and the spouse and siblings would have all been trained to forget any missing time. All seemed normal to each other within the family system, except that it was a complete fabrication.

She had journeyed to Sedona for a kind of vision quest...a deep healing she believed would only be found in that place of desert canyons and earth energy from the vortexes. Three days of spiritual ceremonies and massages had been scheduled and Celeste arrived the night before opening herself to all that her heart and soul needed to absorb from the place of the ancient red canyon.

The morning of her last day she was greeted by her shaman guide who would take her to three of the vortexes although she had felt the winds swirl around her during times of healing or internal connection in the previous days. Sitting on the peak of Rachel's Knoll with no other human in sight, facing the side of the high butte which had rocks appearing to have faces etched in them, her guide said to close her eyes and listen to what the ancient ones had to say to her.

With the cloudless sky, comfortable temperature and light breeze, feeling so uplifted by all she had experienced, Celeste complied and let her mind go into a meditative state, feeling a strong urge to "ohmmm", something she had never done before while meditating, but allowed herself to vocalize the internal push soon followed by her guide's deeply resonating voice joining in with her having heard the silent and very personal message.

Five Sentence Fiction ~ Wisdom

In retrospect, Rose realized her inner wisdom had been with her since age 5 when she began to internalize television show personalities who she saw as people who would protect her: private detectives, police officers, soldiers. Internally she would role play the television episodes with some adaption placing herself into the story always ending up being rescued.
 
Rose never shared her ever growing inner world with others and never deemed them as imaginary friends. After coming to know she had been acting out a form of backwards multiplicity four decades later, it all made sense.  Somehow it felt good knowing her inner wisdom had always been with her protecting her in his own way.

Trifecta: Week Eighty-Six

This week's challenge is to write 33 to 333 words using the definition of CRACK:  a)  a narrow break : fissure ; b)  a narrow opening —used figuratively in phrases like fall through the cracks to describe one that has been improperly or inadvertently ignored or left out.


This is the fourth installment of Blind Obedience which is fictionalized history based, in part, on actual government programs involving children and pieced together through declassified documents. The previous segments can be read here.

Wernher Von Braun (suit)

While anyone looking at the country’s Cold War would see the US versus the Soviet Union, far beneath, in the layer of Firefly, existed a drastically different agenda. The Federal Reserve, which began in the 1920s, and the World Bank which began in 1944, held the foresight of the wealthiest of the wealthy (tying back to royal bloodlines) dominating the world, known in whispered circles as The New World Order. Part of that Orwellian state included not only mind control of their subjects but cooperation of the world’s wealthiest including the upper class in the Soviet Union. At that deep hidden level, for many decades, the worldwide elite manipulated public perception of their activities while steadily moving forward. Priority one was to save themselves from their own man made evil, which was part and parcel of the greater doctrine.

Both Russia and the US had secret plans to send an entourage to space to colonize the moon in the event of imminent nuclear annihilation. Wernher von Braun, an Operation Paperclip Nazi, was first placed with the US Army working on missiles and worked his way up to director of NASA. All puzzle pieces were fitting nicely into place—mainstreamed criminal Nazi’s fully embraced by the US thanks to propaganda.

Elias seethed at knowing he was training others to create the genetically engineered offspring to be the new mind controlled generation who would colonize space with a select few leaders and scientists. His “daughter”, one of the “chosen”, would potentially survive a nuclear holocaust while he perished. It made him hate her even more. He did his job well of maintaining her fear and terrorizing her subconsciously to keep her personalities in tact. He despised that he had to be mindful of never allowing his thin veneer of restraint to crack. His assigned asset was crucial to the program and ending her life would end his career and possibly his life as well.

Write At The Merge: Week 29

For this week's challenge I chose one of two prompts: Nancy Sinatra singing "These Boots Were Made For Walking". This is the continuation of the fictionalized but real secret government program where children were raised as a hidden generation of mind controlled "puppets". The previous segments can be found here.

Elias was in awe meeting the most reviled Nazi of all time, Josef Mengele with his narcissistic confidence and black boots remembered by many long after the concentration camps; Reinhard Gehlen, who was allied by the CIA for his many contacts with the Soviet Union and his knowledge of what was needed to stay ahead of Soviet advancements in mind control; and Jose Delgado, a man with no loyalties but whose knowledge of brain stimulation and manipulating both animals and children to perform as puppets rather than entities with their mind. All were integral to training those whose children would become the first babies born into the program.

Training for Elias’ role for his own child began before its conception. He had no problem signing the documents, although he hated the clause stating his own flesh and blood child would be swapped at birth with a child genetically engineered for the program. He winced at knowing he might have a son he would never know. To ensure his loyalty to Firefly (the highly secretive program of targeting genetically engineered newborns), the CIA made it known they had proof of Elias’ history as a pedophile—knowledge that would ruin his life and career. His job in the larger scheme of the program was to teach the art of torture to create multiple personalities in the young minds, beginning pre-birth.  

Aberdeen Proving Grounds was a common layover point for Nazis entering the US under Operation Paperclip before being given a permanent assignment. Elias trained in 1951 and was prepared for his newborn in late 1952. He was also able to incorporate the new techniques that did not apply to newborns to his now nearly three-year-old child.

The genetically engineered baby was the egg of the biological mother and the sperm of a highly secretive royalty sperm bank. It was long held in the occult that certain bloodlines were meant to be preserved and children hidden from the royal donors would ensure the succession. In fact many donors were also raised in the occult creating childhood multiplicity and became unwitting sperm donors as teens fathering numerous unknown children. The Nazis were forced to worship Satan and participate in the rituals. That knowledge became part and parcel of Firefly. The same people responsible for creating the sophisticated personality structure of each child were also the people at the terrifying ceremonies where the ultimate traumas were perpetrated on the children.

It had been identified before the program that messages a child or adult heard at the height of terror were retained far more quickly than any other method. It was the means to an end but also the fulfillment of an insatiable desire by pedophiles and sociopaths who cared more about their country’s goals and personal perversions than their own children’s welfare.

As for the biological mother, all unwitting wives would never have memory of the medical procedure to extract the eggs.
